ACCOMMODATION AND TRANSPORTATION

Dear Participants,

Various accommodation and transportation options have been carefully compiled for our guests who will be visiting Tokat for the "1st International Congress of Family and Society Studies: Holistic Approaches to Aging" Congress. In order to ensure that the congress process is both comfortable and efficient for you, the Guest House located on the Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University campus and the qualified hotel options located in the city center are given.

In order for our participants to easily make their accommodation plans according to their preferences, the contact information, location details and, if any, websites of each facility have been shared for informational purposes.

We believe that these facilities, where you can stay with peace of mind, will be pleased to host you, our valuable participants.

Note: Hotel reservations will be made by the participants, and special prices can be requested by specifying the term "Congress Participant".

Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University Guesthouse

Transportation

Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University Taşlıçiftlik Campus is approximately 9 km away from Tokat and is on the Tokat - Amasya road. The same route is also the Ankara - Istanbul road route. Campus transportation is provided by private public transportation vehicles.

Public transportation vehicles depart from the GOP Girls' Dormitory and follow Behzat Boulevard until the Niksar junction. From the Niksar junction, turn onto the old rectorate road and follow the Mevlana and Demirköprü route to Amasya road to reach the Taşlıçiftlik campus. The departure times vary according to the status of education. Public transportation vehicles operating to our university are yellow and blue. Our university vehicles provide a ring service within the campus.

TRANSPORTATION TO TOKAT

Tokat province is geographically located at a transition point between the Black Sea and Central Anatolia Regions and can be reached by land and air from many provinces of Turkey. Alternative routes and transportation options according to the transportation preferences of our guests who will attend the congress are summarized below:

• Transportation by Air:

Transportation to Tokat by air is quite practical, especially for participants coming from metropolitan cities. Tokat Airport provides service with scheduled flights connecting Istanbul and Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport, and integrates Tokat into the national transportation network with regular weekly flights. In this direction, access to the city by air for congress participants offers both a fast and comfortable alternative.

Tokat Airport is located approximately 20 kilometers from the city center, and this distance can be covered in approximately 25 minutes under normal traffic conditions. Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University Taşlıçiftlik Campus (congress center) is approximately 6 kilometers from the city center and approximately 11.3 km from the airport.

There are various options for transportation from the airport to the city center and the university campus:

• Taxi Service: After each flight, taxis waiting at the airport exit can be used to reach the city center or university campus directly.
• Service Vehicles: Private service vehicles organized according to flight times provide service on the airport-city center route. The special service plan for the congress will be announced separately.
• Private Vehicle/Rental: Daily vehicle supply is possible through car rental companies operating at the airport.

Participants who reach Tokat by air are strongly advised to make their transfer plans in accordance with their flight times. Detailed guidance regarding intra-city transportation during the congress will be shared with the program flow.

• Transportation by Road:

Tokat is located on a route that can be reached by direct bus services from many cities in Turkey. Ankara-Tokat can be reached by a road journey of approximately 5 hours, and Istanbul-Tokat can be reached by a road journey of approximately 10-11 hours.
Scheduled services organized by bus companies to Tokat Bus Terminal are available at different times of the day. From the bus station, the city center and the congress areas can be easily reached by minibus and taxi.

• Railway Transportation:

The nearest railway stations accessible from Tokat city center are located in nearby districts such as Turhal, Zile, Artova, and Yeşilyurt, situated along the Samsun–Sivas (Kalın) line operated by TCDD (Turkish State Railways). This line covers approximately 105 km and provides convenient regional access to Tokat.

For example, you can take the Samsun–Sivas regional train to Yeşilyurt or Turhal and then reach Tokat city center by minibus, intercity bus, or taxi.

For travelers using high-speed trains (YHT), it is possible to get off at Yıldızeli Station in Sivas and take a TOKBÜS shuttle service directly to Tokat. These shuttles are synchronized with the high-speed trains and can be booked together with the YHT ticket in a single system. Shuttle buses are available at Yıldızeli Station before train departures.

The distance between Tokat and Yıldızeli is approximately 60–65 km, and the journey takes around 1 hour, depending on traffic and road conditions.

From Yıldızeli Station, direct high-speed train connections are available to major cities such as:

• Ankara (approx. 2 hours 50 minutes)

• Istanbul (approx. 7 hours)

• Transportation by Private Vehicle:

For participants who prefer to travel by private vehicle, Tokat province is in a developed position in terms of regional connection roads. There are parking areas in the hotels and congress venues in the city center. Navigation applications can be used to provide direct directions to Taşlıçiftlik Campus and Gök Medrese.

Shuttle service will be provided on certain routes to facilitate intra-city transportation during the congress. Service details will be announced together with the congress program.
